When the world learned of the death of Pope Francis on Monday morning, the Irish Irish Cardinal, who was unknown in the wider world, was the person who broke the news.
After announcing that the Pope “returned to the father’s house”, Irish Cardinal Kevin Farrell took over one of his biggest roles so far: “Cameleringo”, or the person who runs the Vatican after the death or resignation of the Pope.
Pope Francis nominated the Cardinal for his role in 2019. Cardinal will remain in this position during the “official pottery”, which is the period between the death or resignation of the Pope until the next Pope is elected.
He will also play an important role in centuries -old celebrations of Pope Francis.
Farrell was born in 1947 in Dublin, the University of Salamanca in Spain and the Pontifical University of Gregoria in Rome, according to the Vatican.
He played roles in churches all over the world, where he worked as a measure at the University of Monterrey in Mexico as well as in the diocese of Betsda, Maryland.
Finally, the 77 -year -old has spent more than 30 years in church work in the United States.
Farrell, Bishop of Dallas, was appointed in 2007 until Pope Francis asked him in 2016 to work as a leader of the new Vatican administration responsible for pastoral care for families, and raised him to the rank of Cardinal.

Years after his name as Omar, in 2023, Francis Farrell chose the head of the Supreme Court of the Vatican City. He was also appointed as Chairman of the Committee for Secret Issues.
As CameRENGO, FARRELL will be assigned to make the necessary arrangements for the group, which is the process through which the next Pope is chosen.
Technically, Camerlexo can become the Pope, as happened twice in history: Gioacchino Pecci (Pope Leo XIII) in 1878 and Eugenio Pacelli (Pope Pius XII) in 1939.
Cardinal will also chair the death certificate of Francis, and put his body in the coffin. After that, Cardinal is expected to lead a procession that transports the Pope’s body from Dumus Santa Marta chapel to St. Peter’s Church.
The party can take place as soon as on Wednesday morning, according to the Vatican.
