American tennis star Taylor Towneni apologized after being criticized for the comments she made on social media about Chinese food.
The 29 -year -old girl in the Chinese city of China for the Billy Jean King Cup finals has published Instagram videos in which she talked about the dishes in which frogs, turtles and sea cucumber appeared, saying: “This is the most madness that I saw ever … I must talk to human resources … [eating] Turtle and bulls are wild. ”
She quickly faced a violent reaction to both English and Chinese social media platforms.
Mrs. Townsin, who is the world’s highest marital player, apologized later, saying: “There is no excuse, there are no words, and for me, I will be better.”
“I understand that I am very distinguished as a professional sporting to be able to travel all over the world and experience cultural differences, which is one of the things that I love so much about what I do,” she said in a video posted on Instagram on Wednesday.
Townsund was one day ago, which was transferred to Instagram to exchange its reaction to some of the food that I saw was served in a restaurant, including dishes such as a soft crust turtle with MAW and Dry Pot Bullrog.
These are traditional dishes in China, especially in the south.
“These people literally kill frogs … bulls. Is not these Samon? Isn’t those who give you warts, freezing and things?
She also posted another video, as she seemed to be in a buffet with her teammate Heili Babetst, with two ridicule of the sea cucumber dish.
It was quickly called on social media.
“You will not defend Taylor here, clearly offensive and shocked the lack of understanding [that] One user said on X.
Another said, “It is really abusive to make fun of others’ cultural food.”
Chinese social media quickly acquired its comments, and the hashtag began “the American tennis player publicly insulting Chinese food.”
“When you go outside, I respect local customs and culture. You can choose not to eat it. There is no need to reduce our food,” said one of the comments on Weibo.
The last violent reaction comes less than a month after the MS Townsund reached a hot confrontation with her unnecessary rival, Gilina Ostapenko, in which the latter said it was her. “No separation” and “no education”.
Mrs. Ostabinko apologized, but she denied being racist, saying that her comments were in reference to tennis etiquette. “But I understand how the words used can offend beyond the Tennis Court,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
MS TOWNSEND and her teammates are scheduled to face Kazakhstan in the quarter -finals on Thursday.
