Investing.com – Shares in Spain rose after the close on Friday, as losses in sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, it lost 0.22%.
The best performers of the day were Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:), which rose 2.99% or 0.56 points to trade at 19.29 at the close. On the other hand, SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:) shares rose by 2.78%, or 0.23 points, to close at 8.52, while Indra A (BME:) shares rose 2.27%, or 0.39 points, to 17.59 at the end of the session.
As for the weakest performance at the end of today’s trading, ArcelorMittal SA (BME:) shares closed down 4.35%, or 0.98 points, and traded at 21.53 levels at the close. Amadeus IT (BME:) shares declined by 1.92%, or 1.32 points, to a price of 67.32, while International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:) shares declined by 1.51%, or 0.06 points, to 3.60.
The number of declining stocks outnumbered the rising stocks on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 111 shares compared to 84 shares, and 25 shares closed unchanged.
Gold futures for February delivery fell 0.49% or 13.19 and closed at $2,655.81 per ounce. As for trading in other commodities, the price of crude oil contracts for February delivery rose 1.26%, or 0.92, and reached a price of $74.05 per barrel, while the Brent oil contract for March rose 0.79%, or 0.60, and closed at $76.53 per barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged by 0.35% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP was unchanged by 0.00% to 0.83.
US Dollar Futures Index fell 0.41% to 108.76.
