Police says that a cleaner at South African Hospital was arrested after he was found in possession of a bag of human placenta in the province of Sharq Mbumallanga.
It was claimed that Rose Manisi was seeking potential buyers of the human body tissues when it was captured by security officers in the wake of information.
“Upon approaching the police, the woman was arrested with human tissues. The woman confirmed that they are clean in the maternity wing,” the police said in a statement.
The 39 -year -old woman appeared before the court on Thursday, and she faces charges of possessing illegal human tissues. The parts of the body are seized and sent for forensic analysis. She has not yet responded to the charges.
The police said the suspect was “breathing” to the Nilspot region when the officers who were carrying out routine patrols in the town of Lidburg, also known as Mashishing, were arrested.
She was carrying an unknown number of human placenta in a plastic bag when it was captured, according to the police.
The police said the woman “was charged with charges,” adding that they could not exclude additional charges with the continued investigation.
It is expected that you will return to the court next month to submit the guarantee request.
The police did not say what the placenta would be used for, but some believe that eating the body’s tissues can enhance the production of breast milk and even prevent depression after birth, Although there is no scientific evidence.
In South Africa, some killings and distortion were linked using the human body parts in traditional rituals.
Earlier this month, a traditional Mozambeki processor appeared in the court after he found in his possession the parts of the human body in the city of Chuan.
Investigators linked the body to the brutal killing of a young woman who was killed in 2023 and removes her body parts.
