Russian satellites were chasing British military satellites, according to the head of the UK space command.

In an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation, Maj Gen Paul Tedman has set for the first time the level of overlap from Moscow against satellite assets in the UK.

He said that Russia was also trying to disturb the UK military satellites with ground systems every week.

The Defense Minister of Germany, Germany, said last month that Russia was the satellite shading that its army used.

General Timan gave details about how Russia had the same thing with the United Kingdom. “They are interested in what we do and fly relatively,” he said.

“They have loads on the plane that can see our satellites and try to collect information from them.”

General Tedman said that the UK’s military satellites were equipped with anti -irony techniques, but he added: “We see that our satellite moons are deteriorating by the Russians on a reasonable basis.”

When asked how many times, he answered “weekly”. He said he was deliberate, and activity has increased since Russia has increased widely to Ukraine. Britain has half a decoration of military satellites designated in the orbit that provides communications and monitoring.

On the other hand, both the United States, China and Russia have more than a hundred. The Russian and Chinese satellite fleet has increased by 70 % over the past decade.

General Tedman said that Russia and China have experienced anti -distance weapons. Both the United Kingdom and the United States have warned that Russia is developing the ability to put nuclear weapons in space.

While the United States believes that China threatens the speed, General Tedman believes that Russia is the most urgent danger: “I would like to say that the Chinese have a most developed ability, but the Russians have more will to use their anti -space systems.”

General Tedman said he was “really concerned” about what was happening in space – not only threats but increased crowding. There are currently about 45,000 or orbit objects, including about 9,000 satellites. This year, 300 other missiles will be launched this year.

The general was talking on a visit to Raf Fylingdales in northern Yorkshire. It is home to the early warning system in Britain and ballistic missiles. It is a job they have made since 1963.

The two famous three famous or “golf balls” of the Cold War era have been replaced by a pyramid of 30 meters (98 feet) with thousands of antennas.

It seems that the space ship has landed on Moroccans in northern Yorkshire, surrounded by sheep, and an electric oceanic fence and shaving wire.

The unrelated eye provides 360 degrees from the Arctic to North Africa, and from the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean. Its radar can track the objects of the tin can, 3000 miles (4800 km) in space.

Inside, the heavy explosion doors and air locks tell you to have a target for any opponent. In the operating room, military personnel in the UK watch around the clock every day of the year.

The Space Warning Square takes us to the British Royal Air Force through training how to discover the launch of a missile. It is connected to satellites and other American sensors that enable them to discover launch anywhere in the world.

General Tedman calls space “collective sport”, but in reality, the UK relies heavily on America. The United States is responsible for radar maintenance with the support of UK contractors.

“We know that the UK is likely threatened within a minute,” says the UK officer responsible for the watch along with other sources.

What is less is the United Kingdom’s ability to intercept ballistic missiles. Currently, the UK has a very little on the ballistic missile defense route.

The UK government is more investing in both space and missile defense. It also takes steps to defend its satellite satellites. This week, it announces that it will test the sensors to detect laser threats in space.

China and Russia have developed laser rays that can be used to dazzle and disable the discount satellites.

General Tedman said: “We have committed to investing one billion pounds in integrated air defense and missile, and I will be surprised if there is no side of space for how the UK defends threats [America’s] Golden dome. “

He was referring to President Donald Trump’s plan to build a shield around the United States against any missile attacks.

However, the UK is at risk of leaving space race. Currently, about 1 % of the defense budget is spent on space. In contrast, France spends about 3 % and the United States 5 %.

General Timan would like to see space to give a higher priority. It says about 450 billion pounds of the British economy depends on space. It is also the nervous system on which the UK’s armed forces rely on – from navigation to accurate strikes.

Before we leave Raf Fylingdales, there is another reminder why the space is very important.

We have warned that we would have to leave the operating room if there is a realistic accident. While we photograph another alert that comes by launching a ballistic missile, and we quickly accompany us to the exit.

They are watching short -range ballistic missiles almost every day. In this incident, they will not say from where, but it is not secrecy that Russia will regularly give them to Ukraine.

In 2024, more than 4000 missiles were launched all over the world. Russia was the reason behind the creation of Flyingdales for the first time in the Cold War era. The threat did not disappear.
