Oktoberfest opening delayed in Munich after fatal fire and bomb threat

Police in Munich, Germany, says the opening of the place where the October Festival was delayed due to potential connections to the explosion and fire in a house in the city, where one person died.

Mayor Dieter Rieter said that Tirisinoyez will remain closed until at least 17:00 (15:00 GMT) on Wednesday due to the threat of the bomb.

Larcenau emergency is currently taking place in LERCHENAU in northern Munich. Police said that he was shot in one family home. Reports stated that the residents also reported an explosion.

Police said that possible links to other sites had been investigated, including the festival site in Teresinoyez.

The police said: “For this reason, the opening of the festival’s lands was delayed.”

The October Festival extends from September 20 to October 5, and has already attracted more than 3.5 million visitors. It is described as the largest popular and beer in the world.

The police investigating the fire at Lerchenau said they believed that a residential building was deliberately developed as part of a family conflict.

“The injured person who has been found has died since then. Another person is missing, but it is not believed to pose any danger,” they added.

“Booby traps were also found in the affected building. The Special Forces were called for its removal.”

Many emergency personnel on the site.
