Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi accuses South African police minister of links to criminal gangs

Police Minister Centuzo McCono accused the existence of relations with Criminal gangs and interference in police investigations into political motivated murders.

These explosive allegations were submitted by the Kawazolo Natal Nlanhawani police chief of police at a press conference on Sunday.

He said that Mr. Makono was receiving financial support from a corrupt businessman claiming to finance his “political endeavors.”

Mr. Makono has since denied what he says is “ground allegations” while President Cyril Ramavusa said they are “wrong concerns of national security” and “they get the highest priority.”

Gen Mkhwanazi detailed a series of events that it claimed to have a “coordination” of a team created in 2018 to investigate the killing of politicians, especially in Kawazolo Natal.

General Makhwazi said that the team’s investigations revealed links to high -ranking individuals – including politicians, police officials and businessmen associated with the Carted Drug Syndicate – this is why the team is dissolved.

When the unit came earlier this year, Mchunu said it did not add value in the province, although many cases remain without a solution.

According to General Makhwazi, a total of 121 files of the case were removed from the unit on the minister’s education without permission from his president, the Commissioner -General of the National Police Vanie Mesimula.

“These issues, since March, have been sitting in the main office since then without any investigation work on them. Five of these brackets had already had instructions on [effect] Arrests. “

The provincial police chief also claimed that Mr. Mchunu had a relationship with a controversial businessman “supporting” the profession of the political minister.

Vusimuzi Matlala had a profitable contract with the police before suddenly canceled when he was arrested to try to kill in May. Gen Mkhwanazi shared copies of text messages and pushed that Mr. Matlala is to prove this.

For his part, General Musimula said that he would take these allegations later in the week when he announced the appointment of the temporary intelligence coach for the crime.

The head of the Criminal Intelligence, Lieutenant -General Jane Domisani Khoalo, was arrested for fraud and corruption last month.

General Khuallo and the other six were linked to the continuous investigation into the alleged abuse of the illegal and illegal dates that are likely to be illegal within the South African Police Department (SAPS).
