Mistrial declared in Weinstein case over rape charge

A New York judge announced that he was a trial for rape in the trial of sex crimes in Harvey Winstein after a jury refused to continue deliberations about an alleged attack in 2013 on actress Jessica Man.

The jury found Winstein guilty on charges of sexual assault and not guilty of another charge on Wednesday, but it continued to circulate on the final rape.

The wrong Thursday comes after Winstein’s conviction of previous sex crimes in the state last year, which led to new charges last September.

A committee of seven females and five male jurisdictions circulated for a period of six days in the six -week trial before a jury refused to continue the discussions.

The jury’s deliberations in the trial were suffering from tensions. The Foreerson jury brought fears to the judge earlier this week, saying that the jury was “attacking” each other and trying to change his opinion.

On Wednesday, he submitted more complaints to the judge, noting that “at least one of the other jury made comments” I will one day meet you, “and there is screaming and screaming,” Judge Cortis Farper told the court.

On Thursday, the introduction said that he would not return to the jury’s room for circulation because he was afraid to scream on others, so the judge announced a trial for recent rape.

In a statement, a Winsetein spokesman said his team believes the condemnation “will be set aside” due to “the total jury’s miscarriage.”

“8 years old, dozens of accused, three trials, one conviction,” said Judea Engemayer. “Harvey feels disappointed in one rule, but he did not lose faith or heart to continue fighting in order to wipe his name.”

The Court of Appeal abolished the former Winsetein condemnation of sexual crimes in New York last April, and found that the 73 -year -old did not receive a fair trial in 2020 because the judge allowed his testimony from women who made allegations against him outside the charges.

The 2025 experiment was based on the testimony of three women – former TV production assistant Myriam Haley, actress Jessica Man, and the Polish model Kaga Sukola. He accused the three Winstein of using his power in the entertainment industry for sexual abuse. Mrs. Haley and Mrs. Man witnessed the first trial against Winstein, when he was convicted.

This time, the Winstein jury found a guilty of sexual assault on Mrs. Haley, but she acquitted him by assaulting Mrs. Sukola. The trial was announced on the rape of Mrs. Man.

The last condemnation is in addition to a 16 -year prison sentence that Winstein was not committed after being convicted of sexual crimes in Los Angeles.

Last week, a jury also proved when one of the jury said that others “ignore” one member of the committee, called “stadiums”.

Foreperson also claimed that the jury was thinking about the past and other allegations outside the issue of the case in making decisions.

This judge has prompted the jury instructions for consideration only in allegations in the case, and nothing else.

Winstein – who suffers from cancer and diabetes – remained in the Bulfo Hospital instead of Rikir Island prison during the trial. He sat on a wheelchair for the procedures.

In total, Winstein was accused of sexual misconduct, assault and rape by more than 100 women. Although all reports did not lead to criminal charges, California condemnation means that he is likely to spend the rest of his life in prison.

Winstein and his brother Bob were among the most important characters in Hollywood, the founder of Miramax Film Studio, whose songs included Shakespeare in love, which won the award for the best image in the Academy Awards and the Novel of the Pulp.
