German controversy surrounds jail term for transgender far-right extremist

A controversy has erupted in Germany about whether the right -wing extremist should be sentenced to a prison sentence for women or for men.

In July 2023, Marla Svinga Lebitch was sentenced to the local Haley Court in Saxon-a total of one year and six months in prison without conditional release from the incitement on the right to hatred, defamation and insult.

Levach appealed to the prison sentence and lost.

At that time she was known as Sven Lebitch. German media reports say that Lebit is used to be a member of a new Nazi group called Blood and Honor.

At the end of 2024, it had a gender entry into official records that changed from male to female. She also changed her first name.

The basis of this was the law of self -determination in Germany, which has just entered into force and enhanced the rights of transgender people. The law allows people to change their gender mark and their first name through a simple advertisement in the registration office, instead of the judicial ruling.

The German media wondered whether the change of Lebitch was dangerous.

“If the change is dangerous, it is doubtful,” said Der Spiegel. “Lebit has been known for years with her right -wing extremist views, and I made strange statements in the past.”

Levich has taken legal measures against the media for what it considers a false representation of her sexual identity.

A complaint against Spichel was rejected to the Press Council unanimously by the council that it is unfounded. Spiel said that the message said it was likely that Levish “changed the civil situation in an abusive way in order to arouse the state and embarrass it.”

Levich will start a short period in prison.

Dennis Sernota, chief public prosecutor in Haley, told the German public broadcaster MDR in Saxony that it was that Lebit will spend the prison sentence in the Chenitz Prison for Women.

And Lebitch confirmed this in a post on X. “I will start the prison sentence as decided.” “On August 29, 2025, at 10 pm, I will arrive at the Chemnitz Correctional facility with my bags.”

After that, a decision will be taken regarding a place where Lebitch is at the beginning of the prison. The chief prosecutor said that the prison administration will decide whether Lebich could pose a threat to security and order, which may lead to it to another prison.

Meanwhile, the German media report that Lebitch had recently lost another case, against journalist Julian Richeelt in the Berlin Regional Court.

Reichelt, NIUS Editor -in -Chief, published in X in July: “Anyone who follows reports on the neo -Nazis Sven Pepich can only reach one conclusion: Under the law, the government of the Law, under the law, has managed to force the scene of the entire German media to tell the cutting and make the wrong allegations.

Die Welt said that the second civilian Civil Chamber decided to refuse LIBICH to obtain a preliminary judicial order, saying it was unfounded.
