Fireworks ignite as blaze hits Japanese festival launch boats

The fire towers caught fire after fireworks fell during a summer fireworks festival in Yokohama, Japan Monday evening.

The fire broke out on two boats used to fire fireworks. Five workers were rescued after jumping to the sea, according to the Japanese year of the NHK. One of them was transferred to the hospital with slight injuries.

The events organizers planned to launch about 20,000 fireworks in 25 minutes as part of the festival, but the event was canceled after the fire, local media reported.
