Confirmed line-ups as Micky van de Ven and Igor Thiago return

Tottenham host Brentford this afternoon. Get all the team news here…

It’s a busy afternoon for Thomas Frank for many reasons as he hosts Tottenham Brentford.

The Dane is under pressure Tottenham Having won just one of their last eight matches in all competitions.

If he wants to improve on that record, he will have to do so against a team he spent nine largely successful years with before moving to London in the summer.

His replacement Keith Andrews continued Frank’s good work and Brentford head into the weekend in 13th place. They were beaten by Arsenal in midweek, and the Bees will be keen to avoid a double disappointment in north London.

Tottenham vs Brentford match statistics

  • Tottenham have lost one of their eight Premier League meetings with Brentford (W4 D3), and have won each of their last three games in a row.
  • They have lost their last three Premier League derbies, the last losing in a row between March and October 2021 (5). They have lost each of their last four games at home, and have never lost five straight in league history
  • Three of their 16 home Premier League matches in 2025 have resulted in wins (D3 L10), their lowest win rate across a calendar year in the league’s history (19%). The ten defeats they suffered at home this year are a club record, along with those in 1994 and 2003.
  • This will be Frank’s first Premier League encounter with Brentford. Four of the last six occasions on which the Tottenham manager has faced a former side selected for the first time have lost, with the exceptions being Nuno Espirito Santo beating Wolves 1-0 (August 2021) and Mauricio Pochettino beating Southampton 1-0 (October 2014).
  • Mohamed Quddus has provided five assists for Tottenham in the Premier League this season, and is already just one goal away from his highest return in the competition (6 in 2023-24). With a goal against Fulham and an assist against Newcastle, the Ghanaian is looking to score a goal in three consecutive Premier League matches for the first time.
  • Brentford have won just three of the last 16 London derbies in the Premier League (D4 L9), although all three of those wins have come away from home (against Crystal Palace and West Ham twice)
  • No team has lost more away games in the Premier League than Brentford this season (6), with only Wolves (1) picking up fewer points on the road than the Bees (3)
  • They have lost three of their four Premier League away matches to Tottenham, apart from a 3-1 win in May 2023.
  • The Bees are the second London club to face Arsenal and Tottenham away from home in successive Premier League matches, after Chelsea in December 2010. The Blues drew 1-1 at White Hart Lane before losing 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
  • Igor Thiago has scored nine goals in his last eight Premier League matches, worth eight points for Brentford.
