CIA analyst who leaked Israel strike plan sentenced to three years

A former CIA analyst (CIA), which leaked documents classified on Israel’s plans for Iran’s 37 -month prison sentence.

Asif William Al -Rahman, 34, acknowledged that he was guilty in January for two charges of deliberate retaining and transferring national defense information under the Spy Law.

The authorities say that using a high -level security permit, the Rahman printed, photographed and sent from the highest secret documents. They ended up distributing it on social media.

Israel carried out air strikes on Iran last October, as it targeted military sites in several regions, in response to the missile barrage launched by Tehran a few weeks ago.

“For months, this defendant betrayed the American people and the secretary who led to him upon entering his office by leaking some of our most obvious secrets.”

In October 2024, documents that appear to be from the Ministry of Defense agency were published at the expense of an Iranian alignment telegram.

The documents, which bears a high secret mark, could be shown between the Five Eyes Intellionce alliance, which consists of the United States, Britain, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

The leaked documents also contain the United States’ evaluation of Israeli plans before strike on Iran and military asset movements in preparation.

One of them refers to Israel’s nuclear capabilities, which have not been officially recognized.

When asked about the leak, former President Joe Biden said he was “very concerned.”

Israel ended with the implementation of these air strikes later in the month, and to target military sites in several areas of response to the missiles launched by Tehran a few weeks ago.

Rahman, who was working abroad, was arrested by the FBI in Cambodia and brought to the American lands of Guam to confront the charges.
