Chinese officials call on US President Donald Trump to “cancel” the so -called alleged mutual definitions, setting a trade war between the world’s largest economists.
Trump announced this week a 90 -day stand on a set of global customs tariffs that he planned, but it increased fees on Chinese imports to 145 %.
“We urge the United States to take a major step to correct its mistakes, and to completely cancel the wrong practice of” mutual tariffs “and return to the correct path of mutual respect,” the Chinese Ministry of Trade said in a statement.
The Trump administration looked ready to provide a privilege on Friday by announcing that some electronic products – including those producing in China – will be exempt.
But US Minister of Trade Howard Lottenic told ABC News on Sunday that such exemptions would be only temporary.
He said that the administration had planned to impose such drawings in a separate “semiconductor tariff”, which he said would be announced at a later time.
“We need to make these things in America,” said Lootnick.
President Trump encouraged social media, saying that there was no exemption for these products and called this false reports. Instead, he said, “They only move to a” different tariff “bucket.
“We are taking a look at the semiconductors and the entire electronics supply chain in the upcoming national security tariff investigations,” Trump added.
Injecting comments is uncertain for tariff exemptions that were just announced for technology products such as smartphones, computers and semi -conductors.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce described exemptions as a “small step” by the United States, and said Beijing was “assessing the effect” of this step.
But the proposal made by Trump administration officials to future fees plans may weaken the hopes of ice in the protective position of the competitors.
On Sunday, the American commercial actor, Jameson Jarir, was asked whether Trump’s plans to speak with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.
“At the present time we have no plans about it,” he said during his appearance on the CBS.
Trump imposed a tariff of up to 54 % on product imports from China at the beginning of April, before escalating to the current 145 % average.
In its definitions, China imposed a 34 % fee on American goods, before increasing it to 84 % and then 125 %, which came into effect on Saturday.
By announcing the latest tariff, the China Ministry of Commerce said last week that it will “fight to the end” if the United States “insists on provoking the war of tariffs or trade war.”
Late Saturday, while traveling to Miami, Florida, Trump said he would give more details about the exemptions at the beginning of next week.
The White House has argued that he used the customs tariff as a negotiating tactic to extract more convenient commercial conditions than other countries.
Trump said his policy will disrupt the injustice in the global trading system, as well as return jobs and factories to the United States.
However, his interventions have seen huge fluctuations in the stock market and raised concerns about the decline in global trade that could have an impact on individual jobs and economies.
