Bindi Irwin says she was made to feel ‘ashamed’ of endometriosis pain

Bennedy Erwin, the Australian conservation world and TV personality, Pindy Irwin, said it was “honestly healing” after suffering years of pain from the endometrium and called for a greater understanding of the situation.

Erwin, who first revealed her struggle that lasted for a decade with illness in 2023, said in a update that she “slowly gains my strength” and “I started to know myself again.”

After she felt “completely ashamed” when she told her pain “just part of being a woman”, the 27 -year -old said that society needs to remove the stigma about women’s health.

Irwin’s story has sparked talks around the world about the situation that could cause severe pain and sterility, affecting one in ten women.

“Girls and young women should not feel lonely with pain in the driver’s seat in their lives,” she wrote in a post on Instagram to 5.7 million of her followers.

“We need to get rid of the stain of talking about women’s health. It is time to conduct open discussions and make a global scale change.”

Endometriosis occurs when the tissue similar to the endometrium grows in other parts of the body such as ovaries and palop pipes.

It can cause severe pain during periods, sexual intercourse and bowel movements, as well as pelvic pain, flatulence, nausea and fatigue.

There is currently no known cause or treatment for this condition.

Irwin wrote that after “13 years of fighting for answers” and two surgeries, she had 51 scourge, bags and removal of her appendix, she was finally in the case of cleaning.

“I can work in daily life without the desire to get rid of pain or get out of pain,” she wrote.

“I felt completely ashamed when a teenager and an adult were told that my pain was just part of being a woman. I felt less. I felt harm. I felt weak. This is not fine.”

Irwin is the daughter of Steve Irwin, a documentary host in the field of Australian and TV preservation that was known as “crocodile hunter” before his death in 2006.

Since then, she has dug her own way as a self -described wildlife warrior and runs the Australian Zoo with her mother Terry and her brother Robert.

She is married to Chandler Powell and gave birth to their daughter, Grace Warrior in 2021.

Steve Irwin died at the age of 44 after being disturbed while filming on the great coral barrier off the coast of Queensland.
