Merab Dvalishvili’s jacuzzi backfired on Petr Yan ahead of UFC 323. ‘The Machine’ jokingly invited the Russian to join him for an R&R session after their upcoming fight, but his rival’s vicious response left him speechless.

Dvalishvili’s jacuzzi gag dates back to UFC 311 when he mocked opponent Umar Nurmagomedov over a photo of teammates Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev sharing a hot tub with several other men.

Since then, the Machine has kept it as a running joke. Dvalishvili even shared A Hot tub session with Sean O’Malley at the UFC Performance Institute, adding an extra layer of irony to the ongoing gag.

However, he tried to use the joke in the lead up to it UFC 323Not only did it fail to land, it backfired brutally. In response to Dvalishvili’s offer, Yan said:

“You have a lot of people in your jacuzzi, and I don’t have to be there. I feel like you should have girls in your jacuzzi instead of the ones you have. If you like being in the jacuzzi with the boys, that’s up to you.”

When “The Machine” tried to argue that it didn’t matter who he had in his jacuzzi, and that he could always have a mixed crowd, Yan doubled down on his stance, claiming:

“All I saw was that all you had was boys. Honestly, I’ve never seen you with a girl before.”

As laughter erupted at Yan’s comments, Dvalishvili made little effort to come up with a response and just joined.
