Carmelo Anthony Warns Anthony Davis of Chris Paul Fate After Next Trade

Former NBA star Carmelo Anthony He believes Anthony Davis You will receive the same treatment as Chris Paul receive. The NBA was surprised on Wednesday when the Los Angeles Clippers released Paul before their game against the Atlanta Hawks. The veteran guard was scheduled to make a farewell tour during the 2025-2026 NBA season.

Despite Paul’s history with the franchise, the Clippers still suspended his tenure this year. Before returning to Los Angeles, CP3 was the team’s MVP for six seasons.

With everything that happened with Paul, Anthony believes other NBA stars will be treated the same way. The former New York Knicks star raised this point on Wednesday’s episode of “7 PM in Brooklyn.” He stated that this would happen to stars Russell Westbrook, DeMar DeRozan, and Anthony Davis.

“We got Russ, that’s what happens to Russ,” Anthony said. “It’s about to happen to DeMar DeRozan, it’s about to happen to all of these – AD, it’s about to happen. The next trade that AD makes, it’s going to go downhill from here. This is what’s about to happen.”

“It’s unfortunate that this is a trend, I understand it, but the way our legends of the game are being treated is bad.”

Davis had a similar taste of betrayal from a franchise last season. The Los Angeles Lakers have traded the big man to the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Doncic. Even though he helped the team win a championship in 2020, he was still part of the biggest trade in NBA history.

Now, the trade rumors about Anthony Davis haven’t stopped. After the Mavericks fired general manager Nico Harrison early in the season, speculation arose about Davis’ future with the franchise.

Anthony Davis has been linked to the Chicago Bulls

Even though it’s a new season for Anthony Davis and the Dallas Mavericks, the NBA star is still part of the trade rumors. The Chicago Bulls have had success early in the season. However, they have slowed down a bit since then and are 9-12 this year.

The Bulls are eyeing the trade market to pair Davis with Josh Guede. According to ESPN’s Jamaal Collier, the Bulls have had “internal discussions” regarding a potential AD trade.

“The Bulls have had internal discussions about how to move forward, including talks about Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis, sources told ESPN, who they believe can help protect the team’s porous edge and defensive interior,” Collier wrote.

However, Collier stated that the Bulls are not interested in trading their young core. The franchise isn’t interested in blowing up what they have for one star player.
