Amorim ‘angry’ after Premier League draw

Robin Amorim criticized Manchester United’s performance in the second half and the preparation for West Ham’s equalizer after his team missed out on fifth place in the English Premier League. Premier League With a 1-1 draw at home against the relegation-threatened Hammers.

Diogo Dalot’s drive from inside the box put United ahead in the 58th minute, but Songoto Magassa scored his first goal for West Ham seven minutes from time to leave the Red Devils in eighth place and without a win in two home matches.

“We tried to defend far from goal all the time, because we knew they wanted to cross and get a corner kick [strike] “I was lucky,” Amorim said as he analyzed the equaliser.

“It happened – it was a long ball, they won the second ball against three of our players. We can’t let a team much taller than us get a corner kick when the ball is [came from] goalkeeper.

“This kind of detail makes the difference. A corner kick in the second half made the difference.”

Manchester United vs West Ham: Amorim result

United had the better of the game against their third-bottom rivals and hit the post through Bruno Fernandes’ first-half strike, but the 20-time champions have won six of their first 15 games this season in all competitions, drawn three and won one of their last five.

“I’m frustrated and angry,” Amorim said. “That’s it. It’s about working again and trying to win the next tournament.

“There was a second half where we lost control of the game. Today, that was not the case. After the first goal, we lost some second balls.

“We need to be better in the second half. Everyone has the feeling that we need to score more goals [to make games comfortable]. “We are inconsistent and we need to improve.”

United will next play away to Wolves on Monday (20:00 GMT), a day after West Ham visit Brighton & Hove Albion (14:00).

United made three changes, introducing Noussair Mazraoui, Aiden Heaven, and Matthews Cunha, who returned from injury.

He made room for defenders Matthijs de Ligt – who was ruled out due to a minor injury – and Lenny Euro and midfielder Mason Mount.

Defender Harry Maguire and striker Benjamin Sisko were unavailable due to injuries they suffered against Tottenham on 8 November.

West Ham made a forced change by suspending Lucas Paqueta after being sent off against the Reds, with Tomas Soucek joining the team’s midfield.

Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, defender Igor Julio, midfielder Oliver Skarlis, wingers Cresencio Summerville and Luis Guilherme, and striker Niklas Volkrug were injured.
