Trump’s labor secretary confirms timeline for September jobs report release

There is now a schedule when Americans may see jobs report in September amid the government closure, according to the Trump administration.

“I hope the Democrats will understand as soon as this government opens, we want to get these numbers to be able to determine the shape of this market, and we can work hard again to meet the needs of the American people,” said Labor Minister Lauri Chavez-Trem. On “Morning with Maria” Friday, on the same day the job report was to be released.

“We want to make sure that this government is opened, and we will launch these numbers, then we make the necessary changes to increase the economy,” she continued. “Working with our small business throughout the country … We need this government open.”

We need to make sure that we respond to the call of the American people, and this is not what happens today … and all of this is the responsibility of the Democrats.”
