A former anesthesiologist in the city of Bisanson, in eastern France, was charged with poisoning of 30 people, including 12 patients who died.
FRédéric péchier, 53, was developed by colleagues to be a great talent practitioner, for the first time under investigation eight years ago, when he was suspected of poisoning patients in two clinics in the city between 2008 and 2017.
Despite the dangerous charges against him, Mr. Péchier remained in freedom under judicial supervision and told the French radio on Monday that there was no evidence of any poisoning.
The trial is scheduled to last for more than three months and includes more than 150 civilian parties, representing the alleged thirty victims.
The poisoning allegations appeared in January 2017, when a 36 -year -old patient named Sandra Simard, who was in good health, was subjected to a spine surgery and her heart stopped pulse.
After the intensive care doctor failed to revive her, Frédéric péchier gave her an injection and the patient went to a coma and survived. The intravenous drugs used to treat them, then potassium concentrations, showed 100 times the expected dose, and the alarm appears to be with local public prosecutors.
Another “serious negative event”, which included a 70 -year -old man, within a few days, when Mr. Bishieh claimed that he had found three bags of paracetamol that was tampered with after giving a public anesthetic.
Mr. Péchier said at the time that he was framing, but after a few weeks he was placed under an official investigation.
One of the lawyers of Mr. Péchier said he was waiting for eight years to prove his innocence recently, and told former anesthesiologist RTL Radio on Monday that it was an opportunity to put “all cards on the table.”
“After leaving, they still have [serious adverse events] And cardiac drink. When I left in March 2017, they had nine others who announced after that, “he told RTL.
The investigators then looked at the other dangerous negative events dating back to 2008, and included patients between the ages of four to 89, in the great health care centers that he worked in Bisanson-Fernshi Komette Policinic and Saint-Vinci Clinic.
In 2009, three patients who did not suffer from heart disease in Polyclinic Franche-Romté had to revive during simple operations.
Twelve suspicious cases were found that include patients who cannot be revived, including many who cannot be explained.
Damian Ehlin was the first death, in October 2008. The tests later revealed that he had a possible dose of drugs.
“It is horrific. You cannot imagine the influence he had on my family,” his daughter, Amandine, told the French media. “This cannot happen and that many people have been affected for many years, from 2008 to 2017.”
Frédéric péchier comes from a family of healthy professionals. His father was also a anesthesiologist.
Prosecutors argue that he is tampering with intravenous drugs to urge heart attacks, as a way to avenge colleagues. They say it was the “common denominator” in all cases of poisoning.
The trial is scheduled to continue until December and the defendant will remain in freedom, under judicial supervision. If he is convicted that he will face life for life.
