Brazil judge orders house arrest of former president

The Brazilian Supreme Court ordered the status of former right -wing President Gear Bolsonaro under house arrest.

He stands on the trial because of allegations that he drew a coup, Who denies it.

President Donald Trump used the trial of Mr. Bolsonaro, which he calls “the witch’s chase”, as a justification for a 50 % tariff on some Brazilian commodities, although the United States has a trade surplus with Brazil.

The judge in charge of investigating Mr. Bolsonaro, Alexander de Morais, said that the decision is that Mr. Bolsonaro did not comply with the orders of his restriction last month.

Mr. Morais, who was also punished by the United States, said that Mr. Bolsonaro used social networks of his allies, including his sons, to publish messages that encouraged attacks on the Supreme Court and foreign interference in the Brazilian judiciary.

On Sunday, Polsonaro’s supporters were held in various Brazilian cities. One of his sons, Valvio, a member of the Senate, has briefly put his father on the loudspeaker to the crowd in Rio de Janeiro.

According to Felvio later reported a video clip, he was then deleted from his father on the other side of the call to send a message to the supporters.

Mr. Moraaes also banned it from receiving visits, with the exception of lawyers or persons authorized by the Supreme Court, and from using a mobile phone directly or through third parties.

He had already been ordered, previously, to wear an ankle, commitment to a curfew, and not to use social media, and not to contact his son Eduardo Bolsonaro, who pressed US officials on his behalf in the United States.

These restrictions were imposed due to allegations that he was encouraging Donald Trump to interfere in the case.
