Russia strikes prison in Ukraine, killing 16 and wounding dozens

A Russian air strike was killed in prison in a lines area in southeastern Ukraine 16 people and more than 30 others were injured, according to Ukrainian officials.

Regional leader Ivan Fedorov said the attack was overnight in Zaburizia, which harmed the surrounding homes. He added that the Russian forces fired eight strikes using highly inhaled air slide bombs.

The Chief of Staff of Ukrainian President Andre Yermak condemned the strikes as a “other war crime” committed by Russia.

Zaporizhzhia is one of the four eastern regions in Ukraine that Russia claims to have annexed since 2022, although the region is largely under the control of Ukrainian.

Evan Fedorov said that the buildings in one of the Zaburisvia prisons were destroyed, without details where they were in the area.

The Russian forces have often targeted Zaporizhzhia since the beginning of the full invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

The Human Rights Commissioner in Ukraine said that attacking the prison is a flagrant violation of humanitarian law because the detained people did not lose their right to life and protection.

US President Donald Trump issued a flagrant warning to Moscow on Monday, warning that Russia has “about 10 or 12 days” to agree to a ceasefire or facing comprehensive sanctions. Speaking during a visit to Scotland, Trump told the reporters that he “will announce that perhaps tonight or tomorrow,” adding, “There is no reason to wait, if you know what the answer is.”

Earlier in July, Trump has set a 50 -day date for Karmlin to reach a truce with Kiev or economic sanctions for risk, but the warning did not stop Russia’s Apple of strikes.

There was more losses in a missile attack and drones late Monday in the Dniproptrovsk area in eastern Ukraine.

A strike on the industrial city of Kamensky left two deaths and five injuries, according to the regional president, Serai Lizak.

Another person was killed and many of them were injured in the Syneelnykivsky area, while a 75 -year -old woman was killed and a 68 -year -old man was injured when their house was injured in a village late Monday.

The wave of attacks came when Russia pushed Ukrainian territory in Dnipropetrovsk.

On the weekend, Moscow said its forces acquired the village of Malifka, after weeks of seizing its first village in the area. Ukraine rejected Russia’s claims.

Meanwhile, in Russia, officials said that Ukraine fired dozens of drones overnight in the southern Rostov region, killing one person in their car in the town of Salsk and setting fire to the goods train.

Another person was reported to be reported in his car in the border area of Baljuroud and his wife was wounded.
