The United States has seen rapid increases in the number of excessive doses of drugs over the past two decades. An overdose of the drug increased by 500 % between 1999 and 2022, according to CDC centers (CDC).
During this period of time, the Center for Disease Control identified three waves of the prevailing reasons: the first that includes a medical capacity, the second heroine and artificial Aviusia recently.
Illegal drugs are increasingly cut with artificial drugs – such as fentanel – that increase the risk of excess dose or toxic substances.
The Baltimore state lawyer, Ivan Bings, said that the accident was a “strong reminder” of the continuous city battle against the opioid material.
Games Wallace’s fire chief told the correspondents on Thursday that emergency services at the scene of the Baltimore were directed to many people suspected of taking an overdose.
He said that people were found along two cross -crosses as well as on the subway platforms and along the alleys after the initial response at about 09:30 local time (14:30 GMT), according to CBS.
On Thursday, Baltimore police reported that they, and firefighting services were at the intersection of the road “in reference to many individuals with symptoms of an overdose.”
Police service asked people to avoid the area as multiple streets were banned and buses were redirected.
On Thursday, the governor of Maryland Wes Moore said his team was coordinating with government agencies, city officials and first respondents.
Moore said: “I am grateful to those who quickly alerted us about this situation, and those who provide support to society,” Moore said.
Separately, an update from the mayor of the city, Brandon Scott, has advised the residents who use drugs, including not using it alone and carrying Naluxon – which can reflect or reduce the effects of the excess dose.
