Air India plane crash – how the day unfolded

A London -bound -bound aircraft, which was carrying 242 people in a residential area shortly after taking off in Ahmed Abad, western India.

The airline says that 241 people on the plane were killed – a passenger, a British citizen, survived the hospital treatment.

Dramatic shots appear to take off before going down in a built area.

Then the black smoke pillars are seen as it rises in the sky after an explosion. The authorities launched a major rescue operation.

The British, Fishwazkkmar Ramish, survived the incident, and met with the Indian Minister of Internal Affairs at the hospital.
