5,000 aid trucks await clearance at Rafah border

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohamed Mustafa and the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Egypt, Badr Abdi, made him first to the Egypt crossing with Gaza.

It is the only entry point that Gaza is sharing with a country other than Israel, but reaching Gaza from there is now closed, and under Israeli military control.

Long queues of trucks loaded with supplies are waiting to disinfect them to enter through another Israeli crossing nearby.

The United Nations says more food enters Gaza after pictures of hungry children have sparked international anger. But they say more aid needs to enter, more quickly.
